SYMBIOSIS IS UNCOMMON IN THE TAIGA, BUT IT DOES OCCUR.

One example of Symbiosis in the Taiga is when Lichen grow on conifer trees. The Lichen feed on the dead tree parts, while the tree gains nutrients from the Lichen. This would be an example of Mutualism.

Eagles, Owls and other birds make nests in the Pines in the Taiga. They gather needles and other materials, and piece them together in the branches. This would be an example of Commensalism, because the Tree is not effected.

Elk and Caribou can recieve deadly parasites called Brain worms. After the worm has dug into the brain, it drives the animal mad and kills it. This is an example of Parasitism.
